    Welcome To Potton Homes

Potton Homes was founded by our proprietor and Responsible Individual Sue Potton who holds the BSC (hons) DIPSW RNMH. Sue has over 30 years experience in the health and care sector.

Potton Homes provides specialist residential care and education for Children aged 8 years to 17 years, who are assessed to have profound and multiple needs in terms of their emotional, psychological, attachment development and learning disability.

Potton homes ensure children and young people with Learning Disabilities, lifelong conditions that affect their ability to learn and or Emotional, Behavioural and Social difficulties are offered the highest level of therapeutic care and educational support, whilst maintaining an ethos that is relationship based. The understanding of the impact of early childhood trauma is delivered by an experienced team in all of our homes.

Potton Homes offers a supportive and caring environment for children who, for the time being are unable to sustain a family placement.

Potton Homes acknowledge that moving to a new home can be a stressful and difficult experience for young people and their families. Our admission procedure has been designed to minimise the anxieties surrounding a move and where possible we will conduct thorough transitional arrangement including a transition into our school if a place is requested.

At Potton Homes we believe that our young people should have access to a wide range of activities, experiences and resources and this is explored by listening to their views, wishes and feelings. All young people are offered an activity program designed to meet their individual needs and we actively encourage young people to be engaged in as much of the decision making as possible.

We encourage the Young People to experience a wide range of activities as well as offer alternative experiences, develop social and life skills and meet other young people. Activities chosen are interesting and exciting for those taking part in them and allow the young people to develop self-esteem and confidence through success.

We are working to be recognised and respected as a leader in individualised care and education for young people.
