Island Lodge is registered and managed by David Whitty who holds a Level 3 and 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare and level 4 diploma in positive behaviour support.
David has over 12 years’ experience of being a Registered Manager in children’s and adults services including residential ,respite, mental health and education service supporting those with a range different needs, including those with complex disabilities, challenging behaviour , specialist health care and psychological needs.
Island Lodge is a large 5 bedroom family home specialising in supporting and caring for young people with Autism, learning disabilities, and other associated needs. The staff team are highly skilled in meeting the needs of young people, managing difficult challenging behaviours and supporting the young people to achieve positive outcomes.
The staff team offer an individualised therapeutic approach and are highly skilled. The staff team have a range of experience and qualifications to meet and support young people within our care.
Specialised and bespoke education is also available onsite and will be included in the assessment process to meet the needs of the children that reside at Island Lodge.
Island Lodge is located in a residential area, close to the seafront where young people would be able to access local leisure amenities, as well as having access to good public transport connections for further afield activities.
An assessment process would be followed which would include taking into consideration the ages and support needs of any children already placed at Island Lodge
