Ocean View Lodge is registered and managed by Jennifer Benet who holds a Degree in Psychosocial Studies, Post Graduate diploma in Social Work, Post qualifying award in Social Work, Practice Teacher qualification, a diploma in Art Therapy, Credited Level 3 Rape Crisis England and Wales.
Jenny has over 25yrs experience in Residential/Social care, she has been a registered Social worker/Manager since 1998. She has worked with a range of children, young people and families with different needs. She has worked in a residential family risk assessment centre, childrens home and front line services in social care. She worked in family support and adolescent teams working with young people with a range of behaviours, drugs & alcohol, self-harm, missing from home, exploitation, gang affiliation. She was a Manager for 12 yrs. of a domestic abuse service and worked for Rape Crisis England and Wales for a number of years. She managed the Early offer of help programme for families which then became the brighter futures programme.
Jenny also coordinated the programmes for families and young people around Child Sexual Abuse and Child sexual exploitation safeguarding of children and Young people. Jenny also did art therapy with children where there had been concerns that children had suffered child sexual abuse. Jenny was a panel member of Safeguarding Childrens Partnership and Practice Review Group and Multi Agency Child Exploitation.
Ocean View Lodge is an independent Children’s Home, offering specialist residential care to 6 children, aged 8 years to 17 years on admission that suffer from, or have been identified as having emotional and behavioural issues.
We ensure children & young people have the highest level of individualised therapeutic care, whilst maintaining an ethos that is attachment based, humanistic & integrative. We understand the impact of early childhood trauma, and our highly experienced staff deliver a range of different support packages to meet our young people’s needs.
Specialised and bespoke education is also available onsite and will be included in the assessment process to meet the needs of the children that reside at Ocean View Lodge.
Ocean View Lodge is located in a residential area, close the to seafront where young people would be able to access local leisure amenities, as well as having access to good public transport connections for further afield activities.
An assessment process would be followed which would include taking into consideration the ages and support needs of any children already placed at Ocean View Lodge.
